ABOUT US
St. Joseph was a 1st-century Jewish man from Nazareth, betrothed to Mary, the mother of Jesus. He’s considered Jesus’ foster father.
– Life and Role: Joseph was a carpenter (or tekton in Greek, implying a craftsman). He was a just and righteous man, protecting and providing for Mary and Jesus.
– Biblical Accounts: Joseph’s story is in Matthew 1-2 and Luke 1-2. He was visited by an angel who told him Mary would conceive Jesus through the Holy Spirit. He took Mary as his wife and raised Jesus as his own.
– Patronage: St. Joseph is the patron saint of workers, families, the Universal Church, and the dying, among others.
– Feast Days: March 19 (St. Joseph’s Day)
