ABOUT US

The Catholic Women Association (CWA) is a lay organization for Catholic women focused on spiritual growth, evangelization, and empowerment, with a strong presence in Kenya. They aim to strengthen faith, support families, and serve the community through charity, liturgy, and social action under the motto “Strong in Faith”.

Key Aspects of the CWA
  • Mission & Vision: To empower members spiritually and morally, and to promote the role of women in the church and society.
  • Activities: Weekly church cleaning, retreats, charitable activities, visiting the sick, and mentoring youth.
  • Structure & Membership: Open to women over 18 years old in good standing with the sacraments, often involving a 6-month formation period.
  • Patron Saint: The CWA often honors St. Monica, citing her as a model of motherhood and faith.
  • Leadership: The association often works under the guidance of the local Parish Priest or Bishop, with leadership structures at the parish, diocesan, and national levels
